Tilt panels have been lifted and construction of the roof and mezzanine decking is under way at the Aston Views Corporate Center, an 87,000-square-foot, multi-tenant office building in the Carlsbad Research Center at the $3.9 million project designed by Smith Consulting Architects. The developer is Aston Views LLC. Mark McLaren, Bill Shirley and John Tworoger are the managing partners of Aston Views. The partnership bought the building's 8.7-acre site (4.7 acres net) in the summer of 2000 for $2,625,000.
Design features include a two-story entry lobby with a 12-foot pyramid skylight and a granite and glass rotunda. A stairway with glass and stainless steel balusters leads to a second-floor lobby. Three diamond-shaped skylights overlook the first floor lobby.
Pete Bussett is the principal-in-charge for the architect, with Jon Ohlson the project architet and Grant Evans the job captain. The general contractor is Lusardi Construction Co. Engineering services were provided by Prime Structural, Garrett Electric, Partners Planning and Engineering for civil, Brian Cox Mechanical, and Geotechnics Inc. The landscape architect was Steve Ahles Landscape Architects. Brenda Tworoger of Spectrum Property Management will manage the property. |
